Handok (Chairman and CEO: Kim Young-jin) has launched a new acne treatment called Clearteen Ibu-Spot Toc Cream (ibuprofen piconol), a general pharmaceutical for healthy and beautiful skin.

Clearteen Ibu-Spot Toc Cream is the first acne treatment in Korea to contain ibuprofen piconol. Clinical trials of the newly-released product show visible improvements  in 88.5 percent of acne patients. Ibuprofen piconol works by effectively inhibiting the activities of fat-dissolving enzymes and preventing white blood cells from entering hair follicles to minimize inflammation of acne-prone skin.

Clinical trials have shown that Clearteen Ibu-Spot Toc Cream is extremely gentle on sensitive skin, and may be re-applied multiple times throughout the day regardless of any accumulation of sweat and/or sebum on the surface of the skin. Available in a tube-spot applicator, the product can be easily applied on affected spots and areas and is compact and portable.

Clearteen was originally developed for teenagers prone to acne problems and is named using a combination of the words “clear” and “teen”. After Cleocin-T (clindamycin), Handok’s other leading acne product, was re-categorized as a prescribed pharmaceutical in 2013, Handok changed the main active ingredient in Cleocin-T to salicylic acid and re-launched the product as “Clearteen”, a general pharmaceutical.
