Handok rated as the best CSR company over large companies

Handok (CEO Young-jin Kim) was rated as a best mid-size firm which outperforms large companies in terms of corporate social responsibility. Sustinvest Inc. (CEO Young-jae Ryu), a research firm specialized in socially responsible investment named Handok as the fourth company in the sector of mid-size firm and the first company in the sector of pharmaceuticals and bioscience in the 2014 corporate sustainable management evaluation which investigates the CSR level of listed companies for three years. Handok received 79.2 points, achieving an overall rating of BB (and A rating in the mid-size company sector).

 

Sustinvest evaluates CSR levels in three sectors, namely, environment, society, and corporate governance, for top 603 listed companies in terms of sales and market capitalization. The research firm acknowledged Handok’s sustainable management by rating it as the fourth company in the sector of best CSR mid-size firm (with less than 500 billion won in asset) surpassing large firms in recognition of the fact that the pharmaceutical firm has a report center for unfair trade in place, achieved the health safety certification of OHSAS19001, and run the Fight Diabetes program.

 

Among the mid-size firms scoring high in the sustainable management evaluation by Sustinvest are included MDS Tech, KC Cottrell, Shell in Korea, and Ahn Lab.
