Handok launches ‘OMNARIS Nasal Spray’ to relieve allergic rhinitis symptoms

Symptom relief begins within just one hour after treatment

Patients feel less irritation as the spray doesn’t drip back into the throat

Handok Pharmaceuticals has launched ‘OMNARIS Nasal Spray (ciclesonide, 50 mcg per spray dosage)’ on the Korean market. The rhinitis allergy treatment works within just one hour after the first dose and minimizes discomfort when applied. The 1-hour onset of action of OMNARAIS is far faster than other existing nasal sprays that take 7 to 10 hours, so it helps relieve nasal allergy symptoms very quickly.

In addition, OMNARIS minimizes post-nasal drip, which means that the spray does not run down the throat from the back of the nose. It produces its effect with just a small amount of medication and a lower dose of one spray than other nasal sprays, which in turn reduces post-nasal drip.

This is made possible with the unique water-based formulation of OMNARIS, called a ‘hypotonic suspension’, which refers to a hyposmotic solution with solid particles dispersed. In other words, water in the OMNARIS formula has a lower osmotic pressure than nasal mucosa, so it is quickly absorbed into the nasal tissue.

“OMNARIS is already available in many countries including the USA and Canada,” said Sohn Jin-hee, head of the OMNARIS Nasal Spray Marketing Team at Handok Pharmaceuticals. “OMNARIS is able to relieve symptoms associated with allergies, such as cough and runny or blocked noses more quickly and effectively.”

The recommended dose of OMNARIS Nasal Spray for adults and children aged six and older is 200 micrograms per day, which is two 50-microgram sprays in each nostril, once daily.
