– Quick and easy strip-plugging device for fast reading

– Glucose-specific product that removes measurement error

Handok Pharmaceuticals Co. (CEO: Young-Jin Kim) will launch on December 1 a new cutting-edge blood glucose monitoring device called ‘Barozen,’ which automatically reads a strip code.

It features an automatic identification system that provides a fast glucose reading with a strip that plugs directly into the device so it does not require the need to input codes or use a code chip. Precise measurement can be possible with a minimum of blood sample of 0.5 and there is a feature to alarm users to start measurement up to three times a day, allowing for a regular check-up. It also can show data on average blood glucose for a period of 14 days, enabling systematic glycemic control. Barozen is a blood glucose-specific device that ensures precise measurement. Non-specific products can react to other sugar molecules, producing higher blood glucose levels than in reality.

Handok Pharmaceuticals has been a leader in the nation’s diabetes care market with Amaryl and Amaryl-M. Last July, it also marketed a modified version, Amaryl-MEX, which improved patient tolerance and economic viability. It also continues running a comprehensive diabetes care service program called ‘Diabetes Cody,’ and more recently, it began a campaign to help improve the quality of life of underserved diabetes patients by donating specially-designed shoes for foot management.
