Will provide free healthcare examination to certified national artisans

– Will provide the underprivileged with opportunities to experience cultural performances

As part of its social contribution activity program, Handok Pharmaceuticals Co. (CEO: Young-Jin Kim) will provide a comprehensive medical examination free of charge to national artisans who are recognized as the possessor of important skills or techniques to create intangible cultural assets, the company said. To this end, the company will sign an agreement with Cultural Heritage Administration of Korea (Administrator: Yi, Kun Moo) on October 30.

Under the agreement, the nation’s certified artisans who are aged 50-75 and beneficiaries of the national health insurance will receive the comprehensive medical check-up every other year at nationwide hospitals that hold a partnership with Handok Pharmaceuticals. Handok Pharmaceuticals said it designed the program to take care of human cultural assets so that they can inherit and develop Korea’s cultural traditions on a continual basis.

This program also includes annual invitations of culturally underprivileged people to free performances and cultural events by those human cultural assets.
