– To sell 2,400 hand-made dish sponges and 3,800 items donated by its employees


– All profit will be donated to help the needy


 


HANDOK Pharmaceuticals Ltd. announced it will have a bazaar event called ‘Beautiful Saturday with HANDOK Pharmaceuticals’ slated for April 24. The event to be co-organized by the Beautiful Store, a non-profit organization, will be held concurrently at three Beautiful Store shops – one in Anguk-dong, one in Shinbong-dong, Cheongju, Chungbuk Province and its used-book store in Gwanghwamun


 


The bazaar, which marks its fourth time this year, took donations of new and used articles from all executives and employees of HANDOK Pharmaceuticals for resale at low prices. Not only such donated items but also eco-friendly dish sponges hand-made by Handok Pharm employees have been sold every year. For this year, 2,400 dish sponges are provided and a total of 3,800 donated items are on the list. They are clothes, bags, accessories, books, music CDs, handicrafts among others.


 


“Each and every employee at HANDOK Pharmaceuticals attends volunteering opportunities to help neighbors in need and to facilitate philanthropic giving, and we will continue our commitment as a corporate citizen through sharing activities,” said Young-Jin Kim, CEO and Chairman of Handok Pharmaceuticals.


 


Handok Pharmaceuticals will allow visiting customers to check their blood sugar levels free of charge by using its blood glucose monitoring device ‘Barozen’ installed at the event place in Anguk-dong, with an aim to deliver a message as the nation’s No. 1 diabetes healthcare provider that periodical glycemic control is important. At the Beautiful Store in Cheongju, TV actress Choi Hana well known for her role in MBC’s popular drama ‘Dong Yi’ and Professor Park Ji-eun of Seoul Art College will participate as a volunteer staff for a day.


 


All profit from this event will be donated to the Beautiful Store to help needy neighbors.
