Handok (CEO Young-jin Kim) was selected as the best company in the 2014 Best HRD certification program governed by the Human Resources Development Service of Korea. The pharmaceutical company was highly evaluated for providing customized education and training for its individual employees through HI-Academy, which is a capacity-based education system, and creating exemplary working conditions for striking a work-family balance.

Handok’s officers and employees have their capacity measured on a yearly basis, based on which result they can choose an appropriate education program for their set growth target. In addition, the company annually opens a participatory workshop “Hi-Five” where the entire staff and executives can understand and share its core values, vision and management strategies.

Last March, Hi-Five won the Grand Prize in the section of education program at the 2014 Korea HRD Grand Awards organized by the Korea HRD Association. In addition, the company has various learning initiatives including “Handok Talent Program” for building capacity of key talents and “Action Now”, which is an enterprise-wide innovation program.
